George County, MS - Sheriff Dean Howell says 3 suspects were captured yesterday in the case of murdered Joshua Gautier, 23, who was found dead on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Gautier was found by employees of a pipeline company while working on a pipeline in the Bexley Community of George County.
Investigators initially believed Gautier had been dead approximately 2 days but the autopsy discovered it has actually been within just 24 hours. The autopsy also reports Mr. Gautier died of gunshot wounds.
Sheriff Howell says an intense search for the suspects in this homicide resulted in the arrests of 3 suspects. Malcolm Korey Williams, age 22, Welford Lee "Levi" McCarty, age 33, and Nicholas L. Harper, age 29. All three suspects have known criminal histories and have served time in the George County Regional Jail. In this homicide all three suspects are being charged with Capital Murder which is a death penalty offense.
All three suspects have extensive criminal histories. Malcolm Korey Williams since 2009 has been arrested for possession of stolen property, domestic violence - assault on a policeman/public official, assault x 3, grand larceny, larceny, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace and now murder. All these charges are from 2009 to 2013. Welford Lee "Levi" McCarty, since 2009 has a criminal history that includes burglary, multiple counts of simple assault, domestic violence, and grand larceny. Nicholas L. Harper has previous charges including possession of a controlled substance and hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle.
No motive for the murder of Gautier is being released at this time,
