The George County Regional Correctional Facility (GCRCF) opened in May 2002. The Facility's purpose is to provide care, custody, and control of up to 280 adult male state inmates, through a contractual agreement with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) as well as to provide care, custody and control of 168 male and/or female pre-trial inmates received from various agencies.
Inmate Commissary Procedures
Inmates are prohibited from having currency in their possession. Funds are only accepted in the form of a money order, payable to the George County Regional Correctional Facility or GCRCF and must be mailed using the following format:

Commissary services are provided on a weekly basis, with the maximum expenditure amount of $100.00 per offender. Inmates are authorized to purchase a wide variety of items including personal hygiene products, food and tobacco.
Inmate Mail Procedures
All incoming mail is inspected for contraband prior to delivery to the intended recipient. Incoming inmate mail must contain a valid return address and must be addressed as follows:

Inmate Telephone Use Procedures
The living areas of GCRCF are equipped with telephones for use by inmates for outgoing calls limited to a fifteen (15) minute call duration. Telephone calls will be either collect or prepaid calls. To set-up prepaid accounts call Global Tel Link at 1-877-650-4249.
All telephone conversations are subject to monitoring and/or recording.
All inmates must complete a Visitor's Application form which must be approved prior to accepting visitors. State inmates may update their visitation lists every six (6) months after initial entry into MDOC custody and processing at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility (CMCF). County inmates may update their visitation lists every sixty (60) days after initial entry into GCRCF. It is the inmate's responsibility to have all information required before approval is given. Visitation at the GCRCF is held on Saturday and Sunday on a bi-weekly schedule depending on the inmates housing location.
