Sheriff Dean Howell said a call to the sheriff’s office that some farm equipment had been stolen from a residence on Rob hunter Lane in the Agricola Community on Monday April 30.

According to Sheriff Howell, considering what was stolen, metal farming implements, and with the recent surge in scrap metal thefts, the first stop was local scrap dealers. Scrap dealers video tape and require ID from anyone selling scrap metal.

With the information obtained from a local dealer and identifying some of the stolen items sold to the dealer, Detective Trey Collins and Deputy Adam Reus were able to locate and arrest the suspects.

Arrested and charged with grand larceny and trespassing was Michelle Renee Little, 39, of Gulfport. Also arrested and charged with trespassing was Israel Diaz Del Cid, 29 of Guatemala. Additional charges may be pending on both suspects.

Both suspects are currently in George County Regional Jail.
