 PRESS RELEASE

Methamphetamine Arrests
November 23, 2011

On Wednesday November 23, 2011, agents with the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division received a tip concerning the manufacture of methamphetamine at a residence located near the 100 block of Billy Tanner Rd in the Howell Community.

When agents arrived on scene a strong chemical odor was detected.  A search of the residence revealed an active “one pot” meth lab and several precursor chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Christopher Cauley (36) and Donald Steven Tanner (34), both of George County, were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and transported to George County Regional Jail.

Cauley, which is currently out on bond for methamphetamine related charges, was issued a $25,000.00 commercial bond by George County Justice Court Judge M.L. Goff. Tanner was also issued a $25,000.00 commercial bond.

Authorized for release by Sheriff John A. Keel.
