Drug Arrest
July 28, 2011
On Thursday, July 28, 2011, agents with the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division and the Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on Brushy Creek Road that led to the arrest of Joey Preston Mills (26) of George County for driving with a suspended license, and possession of alcohol. Deputies transported Mills to his residence at the 100 block of Marvins Lane in the Rocky Creek Community where they had received a tip that Mills was manufacturing methamphetamine. A search of the residence and property revealed an active meth lab, precursor chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine, and approximately five marijuana plants. Mills received additional charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, and manufacturing marijuana. Mills appeared before Justice Court Judge M.L. Goff where he received a $50,000.00 commercial bond.
On Thursday, July 28, 2011, agents with the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division and the Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Division acted on a tip after receiving numerous complaints concerning the manufacture of methamphetamine at a residence located near the 1100 block of Lowell Pierce Rd in the Movella Community. A search of Jerry Lee Tanner (47), of George County, resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine. A search of Tanner’s residence also revealed drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. Tanner was charged with possession of controlled substance and transported to George County Regional Jail. Tanner was issued a $10,000 Commercial Bond by George County Justice Court Judge M.L. Goff.
These arrests were investigated by the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division, Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Division.
