On September 10, 2011, at approximately 12:34 a.m. a shooting occurred in the Bexley community of George County. Dennis Eckford, age 41, of Lucedale, was driven to the George County Regional Hospital by private vehicle. Eckford was treated for an apparent gunshot wound to the left arm and neck. Marilyn Williams, age 40, of Bexley, was arrested and charged with domestic violence aggravated assault. Marilyn Williams was released later the same day on a one thousand dollar commercial bond set by a Justice Court Judge Cedric Howell. The case is still under investigation.
