ONE ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT IN CUSTODY AND TWO STILL AT LARGE

June 23, 2011

The George County Sheriff’s Department responded to an assault call in the Shipman Community of George County on Monday, June 20, 2011, in which a female complainant said three (3) black males had entered her home and assaulted her with a firearm.  Deputies and Detectives responded simultaneously and arrived in minutes.  The victim was taken to George County Emergency Room where she was treated and released.  An investigation into the crime has revealed the identity of the three (3) suspects, one (1) of which is already in custody.  Thirty-nine (39) year old Timmie L. Moffett, of Lucedale, was arrested following a brief foot pursuit in the area between Love Street and South Pine Street in Lucedale on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.  He was taken to the George County Regional Correctional Facility and booked on the charge of armed robbery.  The two (2) other suspects in the crime, twenty-two (22) year old Carlos Dewune Spivery, of Lucedale, and twenty-six (26) year old Dominic Pate, of Boston, MA, are still at large.  Anyone having information as to the location of Spivery or Pate, who is considered to be armed and dangerous, is asked to contact the George County Sheriff’s Department at 601-947- 4811 or through their web site at www.georgecountymssheriff.com.

Moffett, who was on parole with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) at the time of his arrest, had a bond hearing before a George County Justice Court Judge on Thursday, June 23, 2011, in which his bond was set at $100,000.00.
