Arrest made in Merrill shooting

On Wednesday, June 8, 2011, Kenny Dennis, age 25, of Lucedale, was arrested in Mobile Alabama on a warrant issued for aggravated assault by the George County Sheriff’s Office.  Dennis was being sought in connection with a May 6, 2011 shooting in the Merrill community of George County.  Dennis was entered on N.C.I.C as a wanted person.  The search and subsequent arrest of Dennis was assisted by the U.S. Marshal Service.  Dennis was extradited back to Mississippi on June 17, 2011 and is being held in the George County Regional Correctional Facility on a fifty thousand dollar ($50,000) bond.
