Two Men Arrested For Stealing A Car

On the evening of Wednesday, May 4, 2011, George County Sheriff’s Department Detectives and deputies arrested twenty (20) year old Richard Smith, of Lucedale.  Smith was arrested in connection with a vehicle that was stolen from the 2100 block of Rocky Creek Road and later recovered after being crushed at S&S Scrap located on US Highway 98 in Lucedale.  His accomplice, forty-one (41) year old Larry Lavern Ladnier, Jr., also of Lucedale, was arrested the same night in Pascagoula, MS.   Both men were charged with grand larceny and incarcerated in the George County Regional Jail, where they are awaiting bond.
