NARCOTICS ARRESTS

Narcotics Arrest’s

March 15, 2011

 

On Tuesday February 02, 2011, agents with the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division, Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics went to the residence of Mark A. Miles (30) of George County to serve a warrant for Miles on prior drug charges. A search of Miles residence at 400 block of Manila Street revealed approximately 2oz of powder cocaine valued at approximately $2000.00. Also found was approximately 2 oz of marijuana and two firearms. Agents seized approximately $1360.00 in cash and the two firearms from the residence. After a month long investigation, agents obtained arrest warrants for Miles, for possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

 

On Tuesday March 15, 2011 agents with the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division, Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics arrested Mark A. Miles (30) of George County for the February charges. As a result of the arrest agents obtained a search warrant for the residence of Miles at 400 block of Manila Street. A search of the residence on March 15, 2011, revealed approximately 24 grams of cocaine and approximately 43 grams of marijuana. Agents arrested Mark A. Miles for the charges in the February case and the additional charges of possession of controlled substance cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of controlled substance marijuana with intent to distribute. Agents transported Miles to the George County Regional Jail where he is awaiting an appearance in George County Justice Court.

 

These arrests were a joint agency effort to combat illegal drugs in our county and were investigated by the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division, Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.

This is an ongoing investigation and more arrested are expected
