Highway 26 Closure to heavy thru traffic in Crossroads Community

Quoting the George County Board of Supervisors Website:

 

"ALERT- Hwy. 26 closed in the Crossroad Community to heavy thru-traffic
- A large section of roadway washed away to due Hurricane Ida's 11.5 to 12 inches of rain.


-Heavy/large traffic (18 wheeler s, loggers, etc.) need to detour on Hwy. 57 or Hwy. 63.


- Lite weight/small traffic can detour off Hwy. 26 using Frank Murphy Rd and Cochran Town Rd.


- MDOT has not released a time frame on Hwy. 26 repairs or reopening"
