SMNTF, MBN DISCOVER DOG-FIGHTING RING, DRUGS

On Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Agents with the Southeast Mississippi Narcotics Task Force (SMNTF) and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN) responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Bexley Road South in George County, MS, after receiving complaints regarding possible stolen property, dog fighting, and drug activity at this address. Upon arrival, Agents discovered a stolen ATV and stolen motorcycle. After further investigation, Agents found and seized approximately one-quarter pound of marijuana, MDMA (Ecstacy), and evidence of a dog-fighting operation, including 24 injured dogs, as well as several roosters believed to be used for chicken fighting. Kofe Benard Riley (38) of George County, MS, was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and is facing additional charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana and MDMA) and Receiving Stolen Property. Riley has been booked into the George County Regional Correctional Facility and is awaiting an initial appearance before a George County Justice Court Judge.
