Operation Crackdown

PRESS RELEASE

NARCOTICS TASK FORCE – OPERATION CRACKDOWN

NOVEMBER 9, 2017

 

On Thursday November 09, 2017, the Southeast Mississippi Narcotics Task Force (SEMNTF) - consisting of Agents from the George County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), Lucedale Police Department (LPD) and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office - and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN), assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Safe Streets Task Force (SSTF), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST), United States Marshals Service (USMS), began serving arrest warrants for Operation “Crackdown” in the City of Lucedale and surrounding George County.

Operation “Crackdown” consisted of 29 individuals, with 42 charges that stem from selling Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, and Prescription Opioids such as Hydrocodone and Oxycodone in the City of Lucedale and George County. Agents are also serving arrest warrants on 6 individuals for possession of a controlled substance.

Listed below are the individuals arrested by 10:00 hours:

Courtney Hickey: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Bryan Bracks aka “Pooh Pie”: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) (2 counts)

Jennifer Herrington: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) (2 counts)

Adrianne Breland: Sale of Controlled Substance (Adderall)

Darrell Williams aka “Straight Cash”: Sale of Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine),

                Sale of Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine) within 1500ft of a church

Demetrius Spivery aka “Tron”: Sale of Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine) within 1500ft of a church

Beverly McDowell: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Roy Griffin: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) (2 counts)

Kendrick Booker: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Sale of Controlled Substance

(Methamphetamine) within 1500ft of a park

Tyler Davis: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) within 1500ft of a church

Nichole Hayes: Sale of Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine) (2 counts)

Monitte Henderson: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Clarrisa Blackston aka “RERE”: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Walter Dortch: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) within 1500ft of a park

Christopher Brian Shoemaker: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Michael Shane Smith: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) (2 counts)

Ben Cooley: Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Harvey Louis Vise: Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

All of the above listed defendants were transported to the George County Regional Correctional Facility (GCRCF) pending their initial court appearance before Judge Jessie Underwood in George County Justice Court.

This is an ongoing investigation, and more arrests may be made at a later date.

Monica Riley: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Stephen Newell: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) within 1500ft of a park

Chris Howard: Sale of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) (2 counts)

John Nix: Possession of Controlled Substance (Marijuana)

Mason McCarty: Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Kellen Hopkins: Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

Kim Cowart: Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)

 

George County Sheriff Keith Havard wants to assure the public that the SEMNTF will continue to work to reduce the drug problems in George and Greene Counties, stating that more operations such as this will follow.
