On Monday October 18, 2010 at approx 4:42pm the George County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call of a wreck involving a train and a semi truck on Bexley Road South. The investigation revealed that 38 year old William Burch was northbound on Bexley Road South driving a 2009 Kenworth tractor with a low-boy trailer hauling a piece of heavy equipment. Burch was crossing the tracks and was struck on the passenger’s side of the tractor by a westbound Canadian National freight train. The truck and equipment are owned by Sunland Construction Inc out of Eunice LA.  William Burch was airlifted to USA Medical Center in Mobile AL where he was treated and later released.
