ARREST OF ESCAPED INMATE
FEBRUARY 14 2017
GEORGE COUNTY, MS- According to Sheriff Keith Havard, the George County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Department of Corrections, and the Lucedale Police Department apprehended escapee Winston Howell, who escaped from the Alabama Work Release Program. Howell along with Stephanie Polk were arrested at Keith’s Chevron on February 12 2017 at 11:30 Pm. Stephanie Polk was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of firearm by convicted felon, and Harboring an escaped convict. Howell was also charged with possession of controlled substance and is being held on an escape warrant from the State of Alabama.
Polk is being held at the George Regional County Jail on a $50,000 dollar bond with additional charges pending from the State of Alabama. Howell is being held on a $3,000 dollar bond and is awaiting extradition back to the State of Alabama.
